Mrs. Sherryl Mull

Middle School Language Arts

I love being a native Floridian! After moving to St. Augustine in 2004, I had the opportunity to return to my true love, teaching! My first career path was as a senior patent litigation paralegal with Harris Corporation in my hometown of Melbourne. I enjoyed exploring and developing the knowledge of complex patent technology, gathering and organizing vital documentation, and teaching it to others during patent infringement proceedings.

I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Legal Studies from the University of Central Florida, followed by a Master's Degree in Management. After moving to St. Augustine, I completed the Teaching Certification Program and received my professional certificate from the State of Florida. Further education led to endorsements in both reading and English for speakers of other languages (ESOL).

My most rewarding moments in teaching involve my interaction with the students as I watch them grow into well rounded individuals as they become more confident in their abilities. My goal is to show them how exciting writing can be by intertwining their personal experiences, imagination, and creativity into each story they develop. As we explore the various genres, reading takes them on journeys to events and destinations they never thought possible.

When I am not teaching, you may find me on the paddle tennis courts, bowling, boating, traveling, reading and most of all, spending time with my family. I look forward to my new adventure teaching at Hendricks Day School as the middle school language arts teacher.

Always walk through life as if you have something new to learn and you will. ~Vernon Howard
