The Hendricks Difference

Personalized Education

As a recognized innovator in education, we develop the whole child by focusing on individualized, strength-building engagement in the pursuit of academic, social and emotional growth. Resource classes that include Spanish, PE, music, library, science lab, technology lab and art are offered weekly for grades PK3 - 5th grade.

Critical Thinking

Critical thinking is woven into every lesson. Intelligent reasoning and decision-making skills— inquiry, analysis, and thoughtful evaluation—are life skills that will enable your child to become an effective thinker and more reflective leader throughout life.

Learning through Discovery

Overnight trips for grades 4th - 8th provide a real life application to the information taught in the classrooms. The trips vary from Jekyll Island to the North Carolina Mountains to Washington DC. Our STEM middle school classes integrate Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics in such classes as Bootstrap and Criminal Investigations. Middle school Encore electives provide additional outlets for students to awaken their talents and interests; all while building friendships and learning teamwork and leadership skills. From cross-country to knitting, yearbook to yoga, Encore helps students grow physically, emotionally and creatively.

Prepared for High School

The Duke University TIP program is a global leader in identifying academically gifted students and providing them with opportunities to support their development. Hendricks is very talented! 28% of our students in grades 4 through 8 qualify for this program! Graduates are prepared to attend the high school of their choice. Some of the schools attended are Bolles, Episcopal, Providence, Bishop Kenny, Douglas Anderson School of the Arts and academically accelerated programs such as International Baccalaureate and AICE programs.

Athletics and Clubs

We set a high sportsmanship standard for athletics; honest, hard play coupled with strong spectator support. The Middle School offers teams in Cross Country, Soccer, Volleyball, Cheerleading, Basketball, Baseball, Softball, Track and Field, and Flag Football. In addition, we offer after school clubs that will inspire your child’s interest while developing their social and physical skills.

Healthy Lunch Program

Healthy home cooked lunches are prepared daily in our cafeteria by our staff. Options include a healthy meal, water or milk and fifteen item salad and fruit bar. Dessert and pizza are served once a week.

Bundled Fees

Tuition costs are all-inclusive to better meet your family’s needs, with the exception of a few additional charges that can be found here. Plus, we offer a special sibling/alumni discount, email Beth Hood for full details.
